1) Ventura Point
A popular surf spot, Ventura Point ("C" Street) is always worth checking. It can be really good for Barred and Walleye Surf Perch, Halibut and even Striped Bass when conditions are right. Other species are certainly possible. Its usually easiest to park in the pay lot. Go to the Far North End of the lot. Look for holes and troughs near the river mouth.
Directions: Traveling North on Hwy 101 exit at California Street. Turn Left over the Fwy and then Right on Harbor Blvd. Turn Left again at Figueroa St and head towards the water to the parking lots. The first lot is free, the second is a pay lot. Good Luck!
