3) Ocean Beach / Dog Beach
Ocean Beach (O.B.) / Dog Beach – Nice place
for you and you best friend to go together. I bring my dog along when I fish
here. Lots of action next to the Jetty (Spot One) and in the run off / estuary.
I’ve caught Halibut, BS Perch, Grey Smoothies and a Bat Ray! All next to the
jetty in different depths. Spot “Two” has many pockets, I damn near twisted
my ankle in the pockets out there. Look for Low tide and walk ALL the way out at
Spot “Two” make your longest cast and you may be able to reach the DEEP drop
off. I’ve never caught what’s down there, But It’s a Monster!!
Additional Note: Don’t leave your possession
unattended on the beach or it might get marked by a dog!
Directions: I- 5 to the 8 West. The 8 Freeway ends and turns into Sunset Cliffs Blvd. Stay to the right! Follow Sunset Cliffs to Point Loma Blvd. Turn Right @ Point Lomas. Follow Lomas until you see a the parking lot entrance
