My Favorite Places to Fish
San Diego Area
2) Torrey Pines
Torrey Pines-
This
is my main spot!! During the summer months it’s like Fly Fishing Disneyland!!
I’ve caught Corbina, BS Perch, Halibut, Croaker, Grey Smoothies, Leopard
Sharks, and a Shovelhead Shark. The only thing to know here is look for the
watercolor changes. Big pools and channels are everywhere on this beach. If you
visit Torrey Pines in the winter months during extreme LOW Tides, you will find
a Corral Reef that extends from the beach like a small jetty. Hit the end of it
for some fast action! In general I prefer to walk from the parking lot and fish
south to Flat Rock (You’ll know when you see it) and back again. Don’t stay
in one spot too long keep moving.

Directions:
I-5 to Carmel Valley Rd / Hwy 56 go West. At Torrey Pines Rd go Left (South).
You’ll see the entrance to the park on the right. $3.00 to Park unless you
have a California State Park Parking Pass then “In you go”!!
