My Favorite Places to Fish...
San Diego Area
My
name is Scott Thompson. I have lived in the San Diego area for about seven
years. I’ve been enjoying Fly Fishing in the Surf for about four of these
years. The San Diego area has a real diverse fishery. From deep sea fishing
excursions, Bay and marina fishing, to excellent Bass lakes and reservoirs, and
if you are willing to try new things the Salton Sea has many willing fish that
will take a fly.
However, I Fly Fish the surf more times than I do the others. I like the surf because it’s always open and you can fish it no matter what season of the year it is. I’ve chosen these four spots mainly because of their locations and accessibility for newcomers to the area. Also I’ve caught fish at all of them! Well, I hope to see you out there cutting up those breakers. And remember the best time to go fly-fishing is ALWAYS when you can!!!
